THE city's pantomime stars enjoyed a rare afternoon off, and a festive nosh, when they attended the Publicity Club of Glasgow's annual Christmas lunch at the Grosvenor Hotel in 1958.

Although we can't put names to all the faces, we can spy Jack Milroy, Jimmy Logan, Ricky Fulton and a bearded bloke we're pretty sure is Santa Claus.

The Publicity Club, formed in the 1920s, was a charity foundation set up and run by members of the city's many ad agencies. At the peak of its popularity it held monthly networking lunches, featuring big name speakers, and staged annual golf tournaments.

Although not as prominent as it once was, the group celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2011.
