IT REALLY was 'Firhill for thrills' in 1951 as Glasgow boxer Peter Keenan fought in front of a home crowd at the Partick Thistle ground.

Battling Londonder Danny O'Sullivan for the Bantamweight Championship of Great Britain, Keenan had the crowd on their feet as he put the Cockney on the canvas in round two.

Sadly, for O'Sullivan, that was how the fight progressed, with hard-hitting Keenan knocking him down a further three times before winning with a technical KO in the sixth round.

Keenan, now aged 71, fought 66 professional fights, winning 54, losing 11 and drawing one.
