IN recent years, a lot of time and effort has been put into making the banks of the river Clyde the jewel in Glasgow's crown.

Once the heart of the city's booming shipbuilding industry, it is now a showcase for new flats, entertainment venues, attractively-planted walkways and state-of-the-art bridges over a river that is cleaner than for many years.
