IT'S the time when everyone from the oldest soldier proudly wearing his medals to the very youngest pay tribute to those who gave their lives in war.

With the Second World war still a very recent memory, many at the ceremony will have had all too vivid memories of the sacrifices made by millions of brave men and women.
