THE fashions may change, but there's still nothing to beat getting dressed up for a night at the theatre.
Maxi skirts and faux fur were all the rage back in 1976, when Glasgow's Theatre Royal was presenting Scottish Ballet's production of Mary Queen of Scots by John McCabe.
Our photograph is taken from the staircase in the foyer and highlights the elegance of the building, which is the city's oldest surviving theatre.
Located at the top of Hope Street, the theatre was first opened in 1867 and has been rebuilt after rwo fires in the Victorian era. It continues to be the home of Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet.
The theatre is currently undergoing a huge programme of refurbishment and extension, running to some £11m and due for completion soon.
