THIS incredible picture of Glasgow's 1938 Empire Exhibition was sent in by reader Alastair Barclay, of Stewarton, in Ayrshire.
Taken, we presume, from the top of Tait's Tower, it shows the incredible amount of industrial pavilions built on the south side of the park, between Bellahouston Drive and Mosspark Boulevard, top.
Readers who study the picture online will see such famous names as Colvilles, Dunlop, Templetons and British Railways, as well as the Irish, Australian and Canadian pavilions.
Ibrox railway station, now vanished, was especially built to help bring visitors to the 187-acre site.
And, despite the hard economic times, the event's promoters also built a 10,000 space car park to accommodate those visitors who could afford to own a car.
