WHATEVER your views on today's historic referendum, you wouldn't want to tell these women that you'd wasted your vote.
The nine - Dr Marion Gilchrist, Vera Holme, Isabel Wylie Hutchison, Miss M J Buchanan, Miss M Snodgrass, Miss A M'D Teacher, Miss Fraser, Miss De Courcy L Dewar and Miss Morrison - were Glasgow Suffragettes, and some of them even served time in prison to win the right for women to vote.
Tell them you couldn't be bothered to go to the polling station and they'd give you a flea in your ear.
Seen here at Glasgow's Ca'Doro restaurant in 1939, they had reconvened for a dinner to mark the 21st anniversary of the franchise being granted to women.
Just remember, whichever the way the big vote goes, the ghosts of these gallant ladies - and the eyes of history -are watching us...
