SCHOOL'S out and the Christmas break is here. If you're looking for ways to entertain the family or spend your Christmas cash, here's our top 10 list of things to do in Glasgow this festive season.

1 Silverburn's Santa: Santa and his trusty elf are located in the centre's giant Christmas present and you can meet him for free.

Silverburn also has giveaways taking place up to Christmas Eve whereby you could be surprised with a free gift including gift cards, Dr McStuffins goods or even a PS4.

2 Very Merry 50s Christmas - Creative Cards: Part of the People's Palace Festive Programme, 21 and 22 December from 1pm to 3pm.

3 The Jingle Bell Woodland Walk: 20 December 3.30pm-4.45pm at Provan Hall House courtyard.

So brush off those festive blues, dust off your Christmas hat, step towards the winter solstice and enjoy an early evening walk with friends and family. Join in on this lively 25-minute musical mid-winter walk. Following the walk there will be opportunity to admire the sparkling Christmas tree at Provan Hall House while enjoying a hot drink and festive music in the courtyard.

4 Linn Park Adventure Playground Term Time Programme: Until 22 December, 10am-4pm for ages five-11 and 12-17.

5 The Twelve Days of Christmas Festive Tours: 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29 December and 3, 4 and 5 January Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, 200 Woodhead Road, South Nitshill Industrial Estate, Glasgow, G53 7NN.

6 Winter Trails at Glasgow Transport Museum: 27 - 30 December, 1.30pm- 4pm.

Come along to Riverside, collect one of their exciting family themed trails from reception and guide yourselves around a world of transport and travel.

7 Cinderella at the Marquee, George Square: Shows at 12pm and 1:30pm. Suitable for nursery children to P7, this is Hopscotch Theatre's adaptation of Cinderella.

Sit down and relax with the kids while you all enjoy this classic fairytale.

8 Christmas Movies: 22 December, 2pm - Home Alone. Christmas Eve at 4pm - Elf. At the Marquee, George Sqaure

Enjoy Festive Film Night in George Square. Get snuggled up with your popcorn and enjoy these family favourites.

9 The Merchant Square Chrismas Craft & Design Fair: 20 December from noon, 21 December from 11am, 22 December to 24 December from noon.

The Merchant Square Christmas Craft & Design Fair is back for the second year giving Christmas shoppers the chance to swap the hustle and bustle of the city centre for a relaxing afternoon browsing lovely handmade gifts by some of the city's very best crafters including Shindigg, The Cake Emporium and Simone Wood.

10 Decorate the Decades: 23 and 24 December, 1.30pm at the Riverside Museum.

Have fun with the kids by making your own 3D Christmas tree bauble inspired by some favourite toys over the year.
