A Nigerian man has lost his race discrimination fight over a failed job application to the Scottish Refugee Council.
Sowaribi Tolofari, 50, who also accused the refugee council of age discrimination, had urged a Glasgow employment tribunal to award him £45,000 for "emotional aggravation and hurt", in addition to lost earnings.
He claimed his application for a job as a caseworker with the SRC was not considered because he was a black African, and middle-aged.
The council argued his application was discarded as he had failed to write the reference number of the post he was applying for on the front page of the application form.
Five other applications had been rejected for similar reasons.
Finding against Mr Tolofari, who is from Nigeria but now lives in Glasgow, the tribunal said that his evidence was unreliable.
It added that his age and ethnicity were unknown to the Scottish Refugee Council at the time, other incomplete application forms were treated in the same way and rejected - and a black African was appointed to one of the posts.
The case followed an application by Mr Tolofari for a job as a caseworker last December.
Three different posts were advertised, and the tribunal heard that a total of 288 applications were received for the three jobs.
Mr Tolofari, of Duke Street in Glasgow, is a project worker with the Salvation Army.
