DALMARNOCK-BORN Jamie Barnes is one of Glasgow's original rock 'n' rollers.

Seen here at the Locarno, in Sauchiehall Street, with his first band, The Wildcats - Johnny Walker on bass, Joe Cairns and Andy Jack on guitars, Sonny Hewit on drums and A N Other - they started their life playing at the Tollcross Co-operative Hall.

After that it wasn't long before they were topping the bill at dance halls across the city.

Despite never hitting the big time, Jamie, now nearly 70, is still going strong, fronting his latest band, Cochise, who regularly play at city venues.
