Snapping up a bargain holiday and jetting off to the sun wasn't an option for most Glaswegians in the 1950s.
So it was a familiar site to see families carrying their suitcases and their buckets and spades to the railway station and queuing as they waited to board a train for their annual summer holiday.
As the Glasgow Fair approached in 1955, Queen Street Station was a hive of activity, packed with holidaymakers heading for the Highlands and East Coast resorts.
