VIOLIN virtuoso Nicola Benedetti was joined by musical stars of the future for a rendition of one of Scotland's most loved tunes.
A group of 70 children aged from eight to 18 joined the international star to rehearse 'The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond'.
The youngsters spent time learning and rehearsing at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, before giving surprise 'flash mob' performances in the city.
Nicola performed at the Games Opening Ceremony and today will lead the cream of Scottish orchestras, classical musicians and ensembles at 'Classics Marathon Day' - a day of music at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall to mark the Commonwealth Games.
The musician is fiercely committed to and a high profile advocate for music education, not only in the UK but across the globe.
In 2013 she developed her own education and outreach initiative, The Benedetti Sessions, which has been presented in Glasgow, London and at the Cheltenham Festival. Nicola is now an Ambassador for the BBC's Ten Pieces project, which has the potential to reach every primary school child in the country and acts as a gateway to children learning more about classical music and inspires them to use music as a stimulus for their own creativity.
