Walking down a well-known street in Glasgow I couldn't help noticing something daft.
On one side, was a traffic warden issuing a ticket to an offending car and, on the other, a litter warden issuing a ticket to a careless citizen.
Please can I ask why both wardens can't issue the same tickets, as they do in Aberdeen?
This would generate much needed revenue for the council and save money.

Once again Glasgow city centre is brought to a chaotic halt by the so-called 'annual parades' marching through the streets.
What happened to all the ideas of re-routing or alternative venues such as stadiums or parkland?

With the Olympics coming up, the time has never been better to remember boxer Dick McTaggart.
The only Scottish amateur fighter to win an Olympic Gold Medal, he also took the Val Barker trophy as best boxer at 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
McTaggart was also European Champ, Commonwealth Champ, ABA Champ, Imperial Services Champ, Northern Countries Champ, Scottish Champ etc etc. Out of 634 contests fought, he won 610 and lost 24.
For some reason, he remains one of our most unsung sporting heroes.

Didn't the staff at Barlinnie nick do well?
Winning a top environmental health gong for the quality of the jail's massive kitchen – which feeds 1500 cons a day – is some doing.
I would have given every one of them an honorary knighthood.

GOOD to read Icelandair are adding another weekly flight from Glasgow to the USA.
I wonder if they still offer a stopover trip to the Blue Lagoon hot springs?
We visited them the last time we flew via Iceland. It really added to our holiday enjoyment.
