MY wife and I enjoy walking along the various River Clyde walkways in Glasgow, from Dalmarnock to the Science Centre.
We welcome the proposed improvements as detailed in Tuesday's Evening Times. I would add two improvements that would be welcomed and were not mentioned in the article.
Firstly, when is the stretch of walkway on the southern banks between the Clyde Arc (Squinty Bridge) and Pacific Quay going to be opened to the public?
Secondly, could the owner of the old Renfrew Ferry please give it a coat of paint?
What an eyesore it has become, especially viewed from the south bank. Its paint is faded and peeling off, leaving large rust patches spreading along one side of the vessel. Please give it a makeover.

IN response to the letter published on June 13, the weighing bridge sign at Polmadie states the opening times for commercial vehicles to dump rubbish are Mon-Thurs, 7am-4pm, Fri, 7am-3pm, Sat, Sun 8am-11.30am.
How does this suit contractors who work late? They will just take material elsewhere to be fly-tipped.
In respect of the issue about installing gates in city lanes, I was not asking Glasgow City Council to pay for them.
I was highlighting that planning structures are stopping the road to progress for communities who want to play their part.

I AM all in favour of a tax on sugary drink of the suggested 10% as being considered by the Scottish Government.
However, a levy gained in such a way must be used in a productive way. Using it to educate children would be a good start.

I CAN'T believe how ignorant the smokers are who smoke outside Yorkhill children's wards (Thursday).
Do smokers think of anyone but themselves and their filthy habit?
For a change, think about the youngsters in the hospital trying to get better.
