WITH Hallowe'en now out of the way, city kids can start preparing for Bonfire Night.

Little Graham Ritchie and Eleanor Alexander were well ahead with their preparations for a backcourt 'bonnie' in 1951. The streets had been scoured for scraps of wood, with two old bed frames and a Rinso box added to the pyre.

Mind you, come lighting up time, we hope this pair ditched their plastic pac-a-macs and wellington boots for something warmer and less flammable. Dressed like this, if they stood too close to the conflagration, they'd both go up like Roman candles.

And where on earth's their 'Guy'?

You can't 'remember, remember the fifth of November' without burning an effigy of Parliament blast plotter Mr Fawkes.
