AMERICAN entertainer Liberace was the centre of attention when he attended a drinks reception after performing at the Glasgow Empire in June 1960.
The flamboyant pianist, WBadziu Valentino Liberace to his mum, Lee to his friends, was in the city to play a three-week residency and, naturally, was staying at the Central Hotel.
Apart from his glass-topped grand piano, and his signature candelabra, he'd brought a wardrobe of 40 sharp suits just for "walking out" in.
He proved a hit with the difficult to please Empire audience, telling them: "I am going to have so much fun in Glasgow that I'm ashamed to take your money. But I will!"
Not everyone was a fan though. The baldy bloke on the left is giving him daggers!
