IT'S plain to see from the fashions of the pedestrians in today's picture that it was taken in the 1920s, with ladies in their distinctive cloche hats and ankle-strap shoes.
But in some ways, this section of Rutherglen's Main Street has changed remarkably little.
The distinctive architecture of the Town Hall still dominates, and is shown here decked out ready for a Royal Burgh celebration.
Visitors today can enjoy the street's always-splendid Christmas decorations.
The main difference, of course, is the absence of traffic, in the days when owning a car was a rarity.
Today, the road is busy with many lanes of cars, though on high days and holidays it is not unusual for it to be closed off so the people of Rutherglen can enjoy a party.
