A TALKING newspaper for the blind and visually impaired has secured £11,000 from Glasgow Airport's FlightPath Fund.

Publisher Bankie Talk produces audio tapes and CDs featuring articles from local and national newspapers, as well as magazines.

The donation means 120 pupils from Clydebank High and the town's St Peter The Apostle High, along with Dumbarton High and Our Lady And St Patrick's High, also Dumbarton, will be able to spend a year producing two audio magazines a month.

Airport official Mark Johnston said: "We have supported Bankie Talk in the past and were more than happy to fund this new project.

"It is providing young people with invaluable skills that will benefit them in their personal and working lives."
