RANGERS have been given a cash boost as fans finally snap up season tickets.

Ibrox bosses are extending the season ticket renewals deadline for a third time after "overwhelming demand".

The cash generated is vital as the club prepares for its first season out of football's top-flight. The deadline is now 7pm this Friday.

A statement issued by the club said: "The club has taken the decision to extend today's renewal deadline until 7pm on Friday August 10. Fans have been renewing their season tickets in huge numbers this week but with just seven days to do so, the club has decided to give supporters until the end of this week to renew."

Last month, Rangers revealed fans will pay up to 50% less for season tickets in the Irn-Bru Third Division. Prices start at £65 for children and £258 for adults.

The move came hours before Rangers' League Cup game against East Fife at Ibrox was delayed for 15 minutes to let all 38,160 fans into the ground.
