FORMER Scotland goalscoring ace Don Hutchison has been presented with honorary membership of the Scotland Supporters Club.
The former West Ham United and Liverpool striker, above, assured his place in Scottish football history by scoring the winner when Craig Brown's side beat England 1-0 on their most recent visit to Wem- bley, in September 1999.
His goal gave Scotland the satisfaction of defeating England in the last competitive match to take place at the old Wembley stadium before its multi-million pound makeover.
But the Don's goal – which came in the second leg of a play-off for the finals, the Scots having lost the first leg at Hampden 2-0 – was not enough for Scotland to clinch a place at Euro 2000.
But in recognition of Don's famous goal, and with Scotland confir- med to returned to Wembley to play the Auld Enemy next year, Don is now part of the Scotland Supporters Club.
And he can't wait for the return of the classic fixture as part of The FA's 150th anniversary celebrations.
The 26-times capped striker said of his latest honour: "It is a real privilege," adding "Scotland v England is one of the best fixtures in international football and scoring the winner was a career highlight.
"Craig Levein and his team will be looking to record another famous win next year - I can't wait to be there, cheering them on."
