HUNDREDS of Westlife fans camped out to meet the Irish boyband on a flying visit to Glasgow.

Fans started gathering at 9am on Sunday – almost 24 hours before the band was due to arrive – for their last chance to meet the boys before they break up next year.

First in the queue for the CD signing at HMV on Buchanan Street was mum Sharon Blair, 38, from Motherwell, with daughters Jamie Leigh and Caitlin Armit.

Like many fans, they pitched tents in the street overnight to get the best chance of meeting Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan.

Sharon said: "They are amazing, and I love Mark's voice."

Jamie added: "I've been to see them 20 to 30 times. We've been going every year for nine years."

Nikki McCombe and Claire Donaldson, both 17 and Louise Greenhorn, 18 waited almost 24 hours.

Claire said: "It's the last time and the last chance we'll have to meet them.

Queues stretched from HMV onto Sauchiehall Street and West Nile Street. Only the first 400 fans got to meet the band when the doors opened at 9am.

The group will play its last Glasgow gig in June.
