GLASGOW'S South Side will party as the city's largest community-run festival kicks off.
Organisers last year feared it would be the final Southside Festival after council bosses pulled funding for the event.
But this year it is back, and its opening event is set to be one of the largest processions ever seen in the South Side.
And festival bosses need stewards to help out with the march, which leaves Newlands Field Road at 10.45am on Saturday and walks to Queen's Park Recreation Grounds.
Gordon Morlan, one of the festival's organisers, said: "Given the size and extent of the festivities this year it's more important than ever to get volunteers to join in and help steward the event.
"All we ask is for you give up one day of your time – or two if you are willing to help out on the Sunday.
"Without volunteers to steward the event the work of the Steering Group would be done in vain. This important role is crucial to the smooth running of the festival and the safety of its visitors."
On Saturday the festival will run from noon until 10pm, and on Sunday from noon to 6pm.
It will take over Queen's Park, with a main stage for live music, dance and comedy acts and marquees for arts, crafts, dance, fitness and relaxation events.
There will also be displays from the Vintage Fire Engine Society, Strathclyde Fire Brigade and the Owl Experience.
Kids can get active with inflatable slides, a climbing wall and face painting.
And food-lovers will get the chance to buy some local produce or relax with a drink in the licensed marquee.
Organisers have arranged a free bus service to the event.
The festival team have already organised a charity cricket match in aid of flood victims in Pakistan, a Govanhill Fun Day and a Regatta on the River Clyde.
There is a meeting tonight, in Queen's Park Parish Church, on Queen's Drive, for people who would like to volunteer.
