The star cast set to bring Dolly Parton's new musical to life in Glasgow has been revealed.
Dolly has written 18 original songs for the stage adaptation of 9 to 5, a comedy about three women who take revenge on their tyrannical boss.
The 1980 film of the same name was a huge hit and starred Dolly as the not-so-ditsy Doralee Rhodes. Her role will be played on stage by Amy Lennox, who has just appeared in the musical Legally Blonde.
Dolly said: "9 to 5 The Musical is perfect for anyone that's ever wanted to string up their boss, which is almost all of us. So come join the fun."
Natalie Casey, best-known as Donna in the BBC's Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, takes on the part of Judy, which was played by Jane Fonda in the film.
And bad boss Franklin Hart – played by Dabney Coleman in the film – will be portrayed by Ben Richards, who is better known as PC Nate Roberts in The Bill. Jackie Clune, who was Mrs Wilkinston in musical Billy Elliot, will fill the shoes of Lily Tomlin as Violet.
Musical theatre favourite Bonnie Langford, who has just finished a run in Spamalot, will also join the cast as office snitch Roz.
As reported in the Evening Times in March, Dolly has chosen Glasgow for the Scottish premiere of her show. 9 to 5 The Musical will run at the King's Theatre from November 12 to 15.
On Broadway, the show has earned four Tony Award nominations, including best original score, since it opened in September 2009.
The show features Dolly Parton's original hit title song 9 to 5, which won her an Oscar nomination and four Grammy Award nominations.
