A ring of steel is to be thrown round a city park amid fears that drunken thugs will turn the Jubilee celebrations into another royal rammy.
Council bosses fear an unauthorised party in Kelvingrove Park will see a repeat of the shameful scenes on the day of the Royal Wedding last year.
The massive security operation has been ordered after party "invites" were posted on social networking sites.
Authorities are worried thousands could turn up at Kelvingrove Park for the unofficial event tomorrow.
Some gates will be shut tomorrow, as a precaution, and council staff and police will man all entrances.
A council spokesman said: "There is no Jubilee event at Kelvingrove Park this weekend.
"The council wants people to enjoy the park during the holiday, but believes it is important they are able to do so in a way that is safe for all.
"Park management rules will be rigorously enforced and anyone attempting to enter while carrying alcohol will be turned away. Nobody will be allowed to enter the park with a PA or sound system.
The event, posted on social networking sites, dubs itself an "unofficial street party for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee".
The invite states: "It's a long weekend and the Queen will be celebrating, so should we."
Tomorrow's proposed event follows a mass rammy last year when 29 people were arrested following disorder at an unofficial Royal Wedding party.
The party, also organised through Facebook, descended into mayhem.
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: "This is a weekend of national celebration.
"Don't risk missing out by spending the weekend in custody."
