GLASGOW MSPS and an MP are included in Jim Murphy's new shadow ministerial team.

Mr Murphy announced his front bench team earlier this week and there were no Glasgow politicians in the top posts.

He has now revealed the junior ranks of his shadow government team with posts for MSPs Drew Smith and Anne McTaggart and MP Anas Sarwar.

Mr Sarwar is shadow minister for international development, a post he holds at a UK level in Ed Miliband's shadow Westminster team.

Ms McTaggart is shadow for Europe and International development, while Mr Smith is Jim Murphy's parliamentary liaison and also liaison with trade unions.

Mr Murphy has included MPs MEPs and councillors in his extended team.

He said it was a "new team for a new era".

The new leader said he wanted to make use of all the talent across the Scottish Labour team

Mr Murphy said: "Earlier this week I announced my Shadow Cabinet and today I am pleased to complete the rest of the team. I am looking forward to working with the full team as we take our positive vision for changing Scotland around the country.

"I want a team of all the talents available to Scottish Labour. That means MSPs, MPs, MEPs and councillors. Whatever happened in the past must remain there - this is a new team for a new era, where we all work together to regain the trust of people in Scotland.

"There is a spring in the step of the Scottish Labour Party. We need to take that new energy and show Scots we have the radical and bold ideas to transform our country."

From outside Holyrood Gregg McClymont joins the social justice team on pensions and Renfrewshire Council leader Mark McMillan joins as local government representative.

While many MSPs miss out he also has roles for another eight MPs, including Ayrshire MP, Cathy Jamieson, Rutherglen MP, Tom Greaterex and West Dunbartonshire MP, Gemma Doyle.
