A convicted knife thug killed a man by stabbing him through the heart.
Darren Smith attacked George Mathieson following a disturbance in Cambuslang last November.
The blood-soaked victim managed to stagger to a nearby bar for help, but later died after being rushed to hospital.
Smith was convicted of murdering the 22-year-old following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
It emerged Smith, 20, already has a lengthy criminal record, including offences involving a knife. He was once locked up for almost two years for assault.
Judge Rita Rae, QC, told him: "You are the kind of young man who thinks it is their right to carry a knife around in the streets of Glasgow. I am astounded by the number of convictions that you have."
Smith, of Braeside Place, Cambuslang, was remanded in custody. He will get a life sentence and will be told next month the minimum term he must serve.
Mr Mathieson was with his brother Mark, 18, when he was attacked in Howieshill Road last November 10.
The teenager told the jury he had heard Smith shouting at them, but had no idea who he was.
Mr Mathieson was then stabbed after a brief exchange with Smith. The victim stumbled to a pub, where staff called for an ambulance. He later died in the Victoria Infirmary.
