DETECTIVES investigating the death of a man who was shot on his own doorstep have arrested a 30-year-old in connection with the incident.
Brian Harkins died at the door of his house in Westmuir Place, Rutherglen, near Glasgow, on March 7.
More than 30 officers from Strathclyde Police have been involved in the investigation into the death of the 45-year-old.
Officers studied CCTV footage and made door-to-door inquiries as they tried to piece together what happened to Mr Harkins.
Sniffer dogs searched the scene and forensic officers were also called to the semi-detached house where Mr Harkins lived alone.
In the weeks after his death, Mr Harkins' family made an appeal for anyone with any information to contact investigating officers.
Strathclyde Police confirmed last night that a 30-year-old man had been arrested and that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
