UNIVERSITY of Glasgow researchers are taking part in a unique project about people who disappear.

Through the project, Geographies of Missing People, Dr Hester Parr and Dr Olivia Stevenson, in collaboration with the University of Dundee and Grampian and Metropolitan Police, hope to understand what leads people to the "tipping point" that make them disappear, through interviews with missing people who have returned, police and family.

Around 39,000 people went missing in Scotland last year. while the total figure for the entire UK was nearly 327,000.
