AT least 30 jobs will be created when a demolition company boss launches a recycling firm.
George Beattie has set up Hunter Environmental and has spent £1.1 million on a 27-acre site at Bishopbriggs, Dunbartonshire. He has already hired six staff.
Mr Beattie believes the business will employ 20 people at the end of its first year, rising to 30 in the following 12 months.
He already operates Hunter Demolition in Kilsyth, which employs 90 workers.
The new company will provide recycling services on all his demolition projects, while also accepting suitable materials from other organisations.
Mr Beattie said: "This is an incredibly exciting time for us and we feel the time is right to develop the business.
"We have not set any great targets revenue-wise in the first year, but expect it to be about £1m and increasing to £5m-£6m a few years from now."
High Street bank NatWest gave a loan of £735,000 towards buying the yard.
Gina Cleife, the bank's business development director, said: "George approached us with a well-thought out, professional and ambitious plan."
