School cooks to serve up class dishes

SCHOOL cooks will today go head-to-head to compete for the prestigious title of The Assist School Cook Of The Year.

The competition final is being staged at Cook School Scotland, Crosshouse, Kilmarnock.

It will see cooks, including Carol Coupland from Ayrshire, Sharon Lockhart from West Dun- bartonshire and Debbie Ward from East Renfrew- shire, try to produce in 90 minutes, a healthy and balanced two-course meal, which would appeal to primary and secondary school pupils and costs just £1.50 per child.

The winning dish will be selected by a panel.
