Student cash boosts city by £500m

STUDENTS in higher education in Glasgow spend a massive £500million in the city each year.

A new report says the 67,000 young people working for a degree now make up more than 11% of the city's population.

And almost half of them choose to remain in Glasgow when they finish their studies.
