A MAN was attacked by four youths who chased him in a Glasgow street as he was walking from his car to his house.

The 43-year-old had parked his car in Drakemire Avenue, Castlemilk, about 12.20am on Saturday when the youths ran at him.

He was running into nearby Drakemire Drive when they caught up with him and attacked him.

A passer-by phoned an ambulance and he was taken to the Victoria Infirmary with head injuries. His condition is described as "stable".

The attackers are thought to be aged 16-17.

Detective Constable Michael MacKinnon said: "This would appear to be a totally unprovoked attack on a man returning home from work.

"Nothing was stolen, although I can't rule out the possibility robbery was the initial intention.

"I would appeal to anyone who lives in or near Drakemire Avenue or Drakemire Drive and saw or heard anything to come forward.

"There are a lot of houses in the area and people may have seen the victim being pursued by these youths."
