Fitness firm Pure Gym has teamed up with Barrhead Travel to get the tourism experts into shape this summer and raise funds for an important Glasgow charity.
Tomorrow Barrhead Travel staff from the firm’s holiday superstore on Oswald Street will be trading holiday brochures for bike pedals as they aim to complete a gruelling sponsored indoor cycle.
Taking it in turns with the experts at Pure Gym to furiously pedal on one of the new gym’s top-of-the range bikes, the travel group, recently named one of the UK’s Top 100 Employers, is aiming to clock up 100 miles in the fastest time possible.
The money raised by sponsorship will go to Yorkhill Children’s Foundation, which provides enhanced medical equipment and resources for sick children and babies at the hospital and within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Sharon Munro, chief executive of Barrhead Travel, said: “All of the staff in our Oswald Street branch are really excited about taking up the 100-mile challenge. We’re delighted to be teaming up with Pure Gym.”
