A MAN was rushed to hospital after his van hit a lamppost and ploughed into a shop.
He was driving a small van in West Clyde Street, Helensburgh, at around 8.10am today when the accident happened.
It is believed the man was taken ill at the wheel.
His condition is not known.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Police have closed West Clyde Street, between William Street and John Street, as investigation work is carried out.
Eyewitnesses said live wires were left exposed on the damaged lamppost.
