Glasgow has won a host of awards in recent years from a range of organisations - but its latest tickles the taste buds of food fans.
Since 2002, the city has won the title Curry Capital of Britain four times – more than any other UK city – and been runner-up four times.
To mark the run of success, Deputy Lord Provost Gerry Leonard has accepted the Scottish Curry Awards Curry Lover Of The Year on behalf of the city.
He said: "For the city to win this award is fantastic. It will go a long way towards helping us bring back the title of Curry Capital Of Britain this year.
"It is really down to the great people of Glasgow that we win such awards. We have fantastic restaurants serving fantastic dishes, so it is really no wonder we have a fiery passion for curried food."
This year's national Curry Capital competition is well under way and the public have until Friday, August 24 to nominate their favourite Indian restaurant.
The four with the most nominations will go on to represent the city in the final stage.
Lord Provost Sadie Docherty is asking the public help Glasgow make it to the winning post.
She said: "I am really looking forward to bringing the curry crown back to Glasgow where it belongs.
"We are, after all, a city with a passion for curry and fantastic eating establishments.
"There really is no other city like ours and having won the competition four times already, I'm sure we can again.
"I know the people of Glasgow will back their city and nominate the restaurants they know can help return the curry capital of Britain honour to us.
