SNOOKER ace John Higgings took a break to cue-up with two very lucky youngsters.

Dubbed the Wizard of Wishaw, four times world champion John joined Louise Adams and Connor Laing, at his Craigpark Masters Club in Dennistoun.

Louise from Paisley, who has leukaemia, challenged John to a game, which was set up by Wishaw charity fundraiser Les Hoey,

The 16-year-old said: "John's a lovely person, and I like watching snooker whenever it's on TV."

Louises's mum Eileen, 29, said: "She was in bed feeling rotten yesterday and Les phoned and said 'do you want to play snooker with John Higgins?' Things like that give her a wee lift."

John, 37, said: "I am friendly with Les, who does great work, so any time I can help I do."

As reported in the Evening Times, Louise was just 13 when she was diagnosed.

She was joined by Connor Laing, 12, from Glenrothes, Fife.

He has another form of leukaemia, called Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia, and is being treated in Edinburgh.

His dad Steven, 35, said: "It was amazing for him."
