This week, I turn my (witches') Cat's eyes on the best things to do in Glasgow this Halloween weekend. Time to get your guise on!

Hallowe'en Fright Night @ Glasgow Science Centre

Just ask Frankenstein and he'll tell you there's a science to the perfect scare. So, where better to get freaky this Friday than the Glasgow Science Centre's Hallowe'en Fright Night. It's a monster party with fun for all the (Addams) family.

Here's just some of the spooky stuff you can get your fangs stuck into: a deliciously disgusting zombie buffet, killing off the undead in an apocalypse and goo times in their slime lab. There'll also be a costume competition (expect the claws to be out for that one!) as well as the final of The Fear Factor, where three contestants will go head to head to be crowned the craziest of them all.

Fright Night: Friday October, 31 Tickets are £6 for each skull through their creepy doors

Murder Mystery @ Wild

I thought murder mystery parties died an untimely death back in the 1990s. So, I'm delighted that this evening Wild Cabaret is bringing them back from their shallow grave (the underworld can keep the horrors of Hooch though!).

Along with a killer whodunnit (thanks to the fab folks at Walking Theatre Company) , there'll also be a gutsy, five-course tasting menu, spine-tingling live music and cocktails, so good they'd turn a vampire back to this mortal coil!

Fright Night: Friday, October 31. Tickets are a treat at £65, but you only live once… or do you? Bwahaha!

Treasure Hunt @ Buchanan Galleries

If you're doing a last minute dash for a frighteningly good costume, make sure to stop by Buchanan Galleries for a wee turn. From today until Sunday, they're hosting a spooktacular treasure hunt throughout the centre.

All you need to do is pick up an entry form from the information desk, find the 10 hidden pumpkins and you could win yourself a £250 gift card. Which would go very nicely towards filling your witches boots with fake blood, vampire teeth and plenty more Hallowe'en tricks and treats!

Fright Nights: Friday, October 31 until Sunday, November 2.Free for all; including witches, warlocks, ghosts and werewolves!

Itison Drive In Movies

Back from the dark side (of 2013) Itison Drive-In Movies returns to Victoria Park this Hallowe'en to rev up the scare factor! As a drive-in virgin last year - it's amazing I made it through without getting killed off! - I was blown away by just how much fun it was!

Whatever wicked things the weather is up to, you can be safely (well, as safe as All Hallows Eve will ever be!) tucked up in your car watching the best freakin' Hallowe'en flicks. Lots of folk dress up too, so get your guise on, fill up with Hallowe'en goodies from the folks at scoop, then sit back and relax… until one of the spookily trussed up trick or treaters scares the holy popcorn out of you!

Fright Nights: Friday, October 31 until Sunday, November 2. Tickets are £26 per monster truck (I mean car)

Octopussy @ Secret Location

If trick or treating sounds too tame, how about joining the Hallowe'en club: Octopussy?* Sneaking up on a secret, 2,000 capacity, city centre location tonight, Octopussy promises to be a thrilling and chilling night of serious debauchery. Well, for starters, the £1 drinks do tend to encourage a devil may care vibe…

There'll be the return of the infamous swimming pool, hot tub and bouncy castle, as well as deadly tunes from Johnny Whoop, L.IAM and Super TED. Octopussy nights are wild and often about lots of young folk getting eight kinds of legless. Personally, the thought turns me a whiter shade of pale… but it is Hallowe'en after all!

Fright Night: Friday October, 31. Swag: a Halloween goodie £6-10, with drinks £1-2.

Ghost Tour @ Tennent's Wellpark Brewery

The success of the telly programme Most Haunted shows that even the least scary buildings can have former Children's TV presenters running for the hills. So, this Hallowe'en why not check out the spirits of Scotland's oldest running brewery, Wellpark, which has been brewing trouble, in one way or another, since 1556.

This weekend, the brewery will open it's creaky doors for the first time, after hours, with it's very own hopping-mad Hallowe'en tour. Stories of the building's eerie past will be brought to life (with the help of a few ghosts?) as well as a creepy finger buffet . Scared? Well, for the over 18's there's always a wee bit of Dutch courage close to (severed) hand.

Fright Nights: Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1. Tickets, priced £20, are close to selling out at time of writing, so you may need to make a deal with the devil.

Wee Bird Recommends

All the scaring and trick or treating over the weekend is likely to give you the monster munch. So, Wee recommend getting your gnashers stuck into the Hallowe'en breakfast at the Hard Rock Cafe on Sunday from 9.30am. Fancy dress, fancy burgers and screamingly good ice-creams.
