IT feels almost bizarre that this is my last column of 2014 because it's been such a brilliant year for me and as a result has totally flown by.

That why I've decided to take a wee look back over the last 12 months for no other reason other than to remember all the wonderful things that have happened to me.

It all began after Panto at the Pavilion Theatre finished last January when I took myself off to Mexico with my friend Sheryl.

We had the most amazing time and when I got back lots of people wanted to hear tales of how wonderful Cancun was including the night life.

But sadly I couldn't recount as I chose to stay in an all inclusive resort and therefore was in my bed a little worse for wear by 4pm most days but after nine glorious weeks of panto don't tell me champagne for breakfast wasn't a necessity.

When I came back I was full swing into corporate work not to mention writing my one woman show for the fringe in Edinburgh with my darling friend Bruce Devlin but I'll come back to that as there was an even bigger event about to take place in March as we welcomed the arrival of my first ever Nephew to the world little Sam James Casey.

Yes on March 1 2014 my life changed forever as I became an auntie to the love of my life and I got to watch my darling wee dad utter the words "it's a boy" after five daughters and a long 34 year wait.

The Lion King and circle of life had nothing on this guy.

After that my second little nephew came along when Michael Charles Fivey was born to my best friends Carrie and Paul on

April 27 2014 swiftly followed by me turning 34 in May still single and struggling to get a man to buy me a kebab on the way up the road after a night out never mind marrying me but we'll say no more on that score for now.

Summer kicked in and it was full on Commonwealth Games at Glasgow Green which I was lucky enough to host the main stage and beat Usian Bolt at the 100 meter sprint, ok it was a computerised machine and they pressed pause on big

Usain until I crossed the finish line but it still happened.

After that I was straight into the Edinburgh Festival with another unbelievable run of my one woman show Michelle McManus'

Reality The Musical.

I'm always totally overwhelmed at the response I get with that show as its just a series of wee stories that have happened to me over the last 11 years with a few big show tunes thrown in for good measure.

In fact it's done so well I'm actually performing a new reloaded version of the show at the Kings Theatre in Glasgow on March 24 2015 as part of the Glasgow Comedy Festival and with a 1800 seater capacity there's no pressure then eh?

After the summer came the 4th annual STV Appeal, a live tv spectacular with one specific aim to help the 1 in 5 children currently living in poverty in Scotland.

This year you, the good people of this country, outdid yourselves and raised more than £2 million pounds for the charity and we even managed to get queen of daytime TV Lorraine Kelly live onstage with the Still Game gang during their live sell out run at the SSE Hydro.

I was extremely honoured to get a phone call from Ford Keirnan asking if they could show the behind the scenes video that I shot during filming when I guest appeared in series six a few years ago. Before I knew it November was here and so began 11 weeks of Panto madness at the Pavilion Theatre.

I can honestly say 2014 has been an amazing year for me both professionally and personally.

I'm such a lucky girl to have such a wonderful life not forgetting that I get to write this column week in and week out sharing my crazy stories and thoughts with you all.

Thank you so much for all your support and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Here's to a fabulous 2015 and I'll be back on Thursday January 8.

It's a sad day for Scottish Radio as we bid farewell for now to the queen of all breakfast shows Cat Harvey.

After 12 wonderful years Cat has decided to hang up her brekkie head phones for exciting new pastures and it's a massive loss to us all.

I've had the privilege of working with Cat for many years hosting STV's The Hour, covering for her on Real Radio and now we are starring in together in panto.

She not only a Scottish Broadcasting treasure but one of the nicest girls you could ever wish to meet.

I'm so excited for her year ahead and suspect Heart Scotland will quickly realise what they've lost.
