IN this day and age, it's hard to believe that the Glasgow Subway still closes at 6pm on Sundays.

This was particularly noticeable over the Bank Holiday weekend, a time when locals and tourists alike should reasonably expect public transport to be available in the evening. There's much talk about the importance of Glasgow's night time economy, but for the city to truly realise its potential it should have a seven-day-a-week subway service - morning, noon and night.

I WOULD like to say a big thank you to Nicola Sturgeon.

Having viewed an advert on TV showing Sainsbury's offering 25% off if you purchased six bottles of wine and being the host at a party at the weekend I purchased six bottles.

On paying I was informed the offer is not applicable in Scotland as the Scottish Government banned such offers.

So as a senior citizen who appreciates a bargain a big thanks to the idiots at the SNP who have decided I am not fit to make a decision on how many bottles of wine I can buy. Civil liberties.

REGARDS "Glasgow City Council raked in £10.3million in parking fines, say motoring lobby," if this is what they're raking in then why are Glasgow roads still full of potholes? Ridiculous. They should pour that funding into all roads and community improvements.

YOU have got to despair. How many years are we going to put up with the farce that is Eurovision. It is not a case of sour grapes just because the UK doesn't do well, it is just so out of place.

I'm not going to get into the politics of it all on who votes for who, but surely with the current economic climate for some European countries not being particularly bright would we not be better to spend the money on more important things.

And how are schoolchildren supposed to learn about Europe, when Australia were allowed to take part.

I WAS really taken by the new mural at the Clutha Vaults bar featuring Billy Connolly. It is a great asset to city arts and I hope it is a permanent fixture.
