IN REPLY to J Anthony regarding dangerous dogs - are you really trying to justify the pit bull and such breeds by saying that, but for bad owners, they are cute and cuddly animals?

(Letters, November 20)

Why is the pit bull considered the most dangerous dog in this country - and breeds containing pit bull blood are also included in this?

Are you living in cloud cuckoo land? Tell your claim to the parents of the children killed and maimed by these dogs and I'll bet the owners of the guilty animals thought they too were good owners.

These dogs were bred to lock on to bulls and not let go no matter what was done to stop them.

They are dangerous, They are fighting dogs.

If a child is killed or maimed by any dog, it's not the child's parents who are to blame, it's the dog whether the owners are good or bad.

As for me being educated, I have had dogs all my life but if any of them showed the least aggression to anyone I would take action to get rid of it.

My dogs are pets, not an extension of my machismo.

Plans backfire

WILL MSP's never learn?

They outlawed handguns, it did not reduce the number of handguns illegally held. Only the law-abiding licensed owners suffered.

There are hundreds of illegal handguns available on the streets among the criminal fraternity. Banning air guns will result in the same situation.

REGARDING Sunday service for passengers: Coatbridge has hardly been 'cut off'. (Evening Times, November 21)

Sunnyside, Coatdyke or Blairhill stations offer ample Sunday trains to town.

Park plan joy

I AM glad to see there is a move to make permanent the "temporary park" in the East End of Glasgow. (Evening Times, November 21)

I often wonder why things like this are built if they are going to be destroyed.
