OPINION: Glasgow picks up another MOBO
The MOBO awards came back to Glasgow last night after the city put on a great show two years ago.
With the awards signed up to return again in 2013 and 2015 it proves that the city can handle the demands of such a high-profile event.
With movie stars Brad Pitt, and Halle Berry in town recently, and now stars like Jessie J, Katy B and Alesha Dixon, the city can leave the red carpet our permanently.
Whether it is major sporting events like the Champions League or Uefa Cup Final or music events like the MOBOs, those who travel to the city from far and wide leave knowing they have had a great time and spread the word which boosts the city's reputation even further.
The fact Glasgow can attract these events is down to the top class venues and efforts of the city's marketing teams working to ensure we stay ahead of the competition.
Glasgow is now a semi-permanent home the Music of Black Origin Awards having secured the gig for another two occasions in the next four years.
After the winners picked up their MOBO accolades, they can all head back home to London and L.A and tell all their showbiz friends they have just had a POGO.
A Party Of Glasgow Origin, and they know there is none better.
