JON DALY hopes Rangers can pile the misery on disheartened Hibernian when they head to Ibrox.

Alan Stubbs' side are seventh in the Championship standings after a poor start to the season.

Defeat to the Light Blues on Monday night will see them fall 10 points behind one of their title rivals.

And they could end up 13 points adrift of capital counterparts Hearts if the Jambos beat Livingston on Sunday.

Boss Stubbs is under pressure to turn around their faltering form as the Easter Road outfit prepare for a daunting trip along the M8 gunning for revenge for their Petrofac Training Cup defeat.

And Ibrox strike star Daly is determined to make the most of the chance to open up more breathing space between the Gers and their former top flight rivals.

He said: "I watched the game last month and I was quite impressed by Hibs.

"They passed the ball well and looked like they had a decent set-up.

"That's the level they can hit and I thought they were excellent on the day.

"They have that in their locker but their confidence has taken a dent since then.

"Their campaign hasn't really panned out how they would have expected it to and that shows what quality there is in the league.

"They'll be looking to bounce back from their recent league results on Monday night and they'll come through trying to upset us.

"It's up to us to make sure that doesn't happen and it's about what we do. Our level of performance has to be up to standard.

"We have to try to hit them early and if we can get a goal or two, hopefully we can go on to win the game."
