Former Hearts winger David Templeton has warned that getting stick at Tynecastle might be the spark that will light up the Tynecastle burners for Rangers.

Templeton is looking to make his third consecutive start for the Gers when they take on the Championship leaders.

With Hearts six points ahead, the atmosphere at a sold-out Tynecastle is likely to be highly charged, but Templeton believes he can handle any hostility.

Templeton said: "It's safe to say the Hearts fans don't really like Rangers so I think it will give the game an extra edge.

"It will be a great atmosphere and I know the fans will be up for it, as will all of us, which I think will make for an even better game.

"To me it's just another game but I know that going there I will probably get a bit of stick.

"I think that can sometimes help me play better and it's just seeing whether I'll be starting come the game or not."

Meanwhile, Steven Smith insists Rangers have nothing to fear ahead of the top-of-the- table clash.

"I think that for any team who goes that long unbeaten it is a massive thing," he told rangers.co.uk

"If I'm being honest I didn't expect Hearts to go that long unbeaten.

"You've got to take your hat off to them and say well done, but that's as far as it goes.

"We're going to look to do a job on them and that's the way that it's always going to be here.

"It's going to take hard work to get a win at Tynecastle - we have to go there and match their work rate and then try to play some football and the result should take care of itself."

Smith picked up a slight calf injury in last Saturday's draw with Alloa but is optimistic he will have recovered before tomorrow's early kick-off.

He said: "Hopefully it's just a knock - I didn't do a lot at training on Monday or Tuesday as I've just been having treatment.

"I'm hoping I'm fine for the weekend because I'd love to be involved."
