STUART McCALL is pleased Rangers' play-off destiny is in their own hands - despite seeing his side drop two crucial points against Livingston last night.

The Light Blues climbed above Hibernian and into second spot in the Championship standings, but were left frustrated as they could only draw 1-1 with the Lions.

A Marius Zaliuskas header cancelled out Myles Hippolyte's superb free-kick opener to earn Rangers a share of the spoils.

And boss McCall knows it could be a crucial point gained as the Gers get set for clashes with Dumbarton, Falkirk and Hearts before the play-off shootout.

He said: "Livi are fighting for their lives. They weren't going to sit off us and the park wasn't conducive to nice football. We had to defend long throws and free-kicks, and they are a physical side.

"At half-time we said we wanted to get a clean sheet, but you can't stop a free-kick like that, it was a great bit of ability. But we bounced back straight away.

"That might end up not being a bad point. Obviously we wanted to come and win.

"We have no divine right to turn up anywhere and go and play, and it was a totally different game to the win over Raith Rovers.

"I am disappointed that we have not won the game, but we will take a point and it is in our hands.

"We have got to go and win the next three games, possibly, who knows? On Saturday, we have got to go and win."

Rangers will hope to have second spot sewn up before their trip to Tynecastle on the final day of the campaign, but a row has erupted over the timing of the potentially pivotal clash.

Hibernian and Hearts have hit out at the SPFL for switching the game to Sunday, May 3 - the day after Alan Stubbs' side face fellow-promotion hopefuls Falkirk.

And McCall can understand why the Easter Road outfit are aggrieved at the perceived advantage Rangers would be handed going into the final 90 minutes of action.

He said: "First and foremost, we've not asked for the game to be changed. Hibs are complaining about it and rightly so. I'd be doing exactly the same.

"I think every game on the last day of the season should be played at the same time.

"But we've told by the TV, I believe, that it may be the case that the other games are moved to the Sunday ... I don't know. [It is] nothing to do with us.

"We've not asked for that, but if I was in Hibs' position, I would be annoyed. I was happy to play on the Saturday. We've not done it to try and gain an advantage - we've been told when to play. TV controls a lot of things.

"If the game definitely has to go ahead on the Sunday then we now all move to Sunday. I would imagine that it will be changed to play at the same time. It would be only right."
