ALLY McCOIST today insisted Graham Wallace's Ibrox meeting was a 'positive' affair last week after the chief executive held talks with players and staff.

The Gers supremo spoke with playing and non-playing personnel at the club after the Light Blues again hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Fears have grown amongst supporters over Rangers' financial health as anger towards the under-fire board has escalated once more.

But McCoist was pleased Wallace took the time to meet with staff at the club as he attempted to allay concerns regarding the off-field position.

He said: "It was very informal, just a staff meeting to keep everyone up to speed with what's happening and where Graham sees the club going.

"I spoke to the staff for five minutes as well. There was a wee Q&A afterwards.

"It's something we've done before and Graham plans to have quarterly. It wasn't people demanding reassurances or anything like that. It was a positive meeting.

"Everybody likes a bit of reassurance now and again to ease any concerns they might have about anything. That was the object of the meeting."

While the financial picture at Ibrox is again uncertain, the overall outlook is brighter for McCoist on the park.

Saturday's 1-1 draw with Alloa was the League One champions' eighth game without a defeat following their loss on the opening day of the second tier campaign to title rivals Hearts.

The hard-fought point was to come at a cost, however, with Lewis Macleod and Nicky Clark added to the Light Blues' injury list.

The duo have been two of Rangers' key men in recent games but are set to miss the League Cup clash with Falkirk tonight.

Lee Wallace is expected to be fit enough to return at left-back but with Kenny Miller and Cammy Bell also sidelined, McCoist doesn't have his selection problems to seek ahead of the Bairns battle.

He said: "Lewis is out, so is Clarky. Kenny's out, Cammy's out. The two boys who got injured on Saturday won't make it.

"Wallace will come back. He probably could have made it at the weekend but with the surface and with tonight's game coming up, we thought it was better to leave him.

"Our medical guys are reluctant to put times on anything, but I think it will be weeks rather than months.

"I don't think they will manage the next league game either, although I'll be delighted to be proved wrong."
