IF you are a striker for Rangers, you should be getting at least 15, and nearer 20, goals a season.

With a handful of games left this season, there is nobody anywhere near that at the moment.

Kris Boyd is our top scoring forward with 10 this term, while Nicky Clark and Kenny Miller have eight and seven respectively and Jon Daly has just four.

The bonus for Stuart McCall is that he has goals coming from other areas of the team, Nicky Law has 12 so far this season and Haris Vuckic has got seven already.

But you want to see your strikers scoring and that is not something the Rangers forwards have done often enough this season.

With the chances Rangers create, no matter what league you are in, the pressure is on you to score a good number of goals.

Nicky hasn't had that many starts this season and Kris, the one you would expect to get to the 20 mark, has never got going this year unfortunately.

If you look at the top scorers in the Championship, there is not one Rangers player anywhere near the top. Other teams have strikers scoring regularly but we don't.

No matter what league we are in next season, that is something that has to change.

We need someone who will get us 15-20 goals a season and someone that we can rely on.

Stuart has stuck with Nicky and Kenny in the last few games and both have scored in recent weeks.

But he will be looking for someone to really step up to the plate between now and the end of the campaign to get us the goals that will get us into the Premiership.

The fact that Rangers are creating chances will please Stuart, if you are not doing that then you have a real problem.

There is no doubt that the strikers are not taking their share of the opportunities we are carving out, though.
