HAMILTON Accies boss Billy Reid has completed his second signing of the summer with the capture of former Morton and Ayr United goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert.

The 29-year-old had been training with the Irn-Bru First Division side for several weeks with the view to a deal ahead of the start of the campaign and he has now put pen-to-paper on a one-year contract at New Douglas Park.

A keeper was high on Reid's shopping list during the close season after seeing Czech star Tomas Cerny leave the club last term by mutual consent, with David Hutton not having his contract renewed last month and Blair Currie returning to Rangers at the end of his loan spell in the First Division.

Accies have also moved to tie down a number of their most promising young talents, with six members of last year's under-17 squad signing professional terms with the club.

Matthew Craig, Ali El Zubaidi, Michael Selfridge, Eamonn Brophy, Darren Lyon and Scott McMann have all agreed new deals with the Lanarkshire club as they attempt to progress through the Hamilton ranks.

Meanwhile, Dumbarton gaffer Alan Adamson admits promotion heroes Craig Dargo and Tony Wallace could have played their last games for the Sons.

The pair played an integral part in helping Adamson's side clinch a place in the First Division but both have offers from elsewhere.

Adamson is close to agreeing a deal to bring midfielder Mark Lamont back to the Rock on a loan deal from St Mirren but has all but given up of holding on to Dargo and Wallace.

Elsewhere, Albion Rovers have signed Mick O'Byrne and Peter Innes ahead of the new Second Division campaign.
