MIDFIELDER Andrew Mitchell today pledged his future to the newco Rangers by signing a one-year contract.

The 20-year-old made two competitive appearances for Rangers before his contract expired at the end of the season.

The Northern Irishman was one of 13 players who turned up for the club's first day of pre-season training on Thursday.

Alejandro Bedoya joined their ranks today by returning to Murray Park after the American was given extra time off in his summer break to the home-based players.

Meanwhile, Sion chief Christian Constantin has warned Rangers newco supremo Charles Green he won't get a penny for Kyle Lafferty.

The Northern Irishman has agreed a three-year deal with the Swiss side and will be paraded today after he rejected a transfer of his Ibrox deal to Green's newco.

But although Green is determined to sue for compensation, Constantin dismissed his hopes.

He said: "I'm not surprised to hear Rangers want money. But the player is free and there is no contract for the player so there will be no problem with Fifa."

Meanwhile, Steven Naismith looks set to sign for Everton after passing a stringent medical over the weekend.
