ARSENE WENGER is desperate to keep Robin van Persie at Arsenal, despite a bidding war that is taking place over the Holland striker.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus hope to sign last season's top scorer in the Barclays Premier League, whose contract expires next summer.

Wenger has remained defiant by declaring van Persie, valued at around £20million, is staying in north London.

"The options are clear – we want to keep our players," said the Gunners' manager. "I would be happy for him to stay with us at Arsenal."

Wenger has promised more recruits at the Emirates Stadium having added Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud to his squad.

Spain winger Santi Cazorla and France midfielder Yann M'Vila have been linked with moves to Arsenal. "I won't talk about transfers because it is a fragile subject," said Wenger.
