ALEX MORRISON has revealed that he is set to agree terms with Willie Limond to welcome the Commonwealth light-welterweight champion back to his stable.

As revealed exclusively in Wednesday's SportTimes, the 35-year-old has left Tommy Gilmour's management and is considering his future after an elusive third crack at a British title failed to materialise.

But now Big Alex has revealed that he is hopeful Limond will return to his management and that a possible Lonsdale belt bust-up with British boss Curtis Woodhouse could materialise on the under card of Ricky Burns' comeback fight at Braehead on June 27.

Morrison said: "I have had a chat with Willie and I am very hopeful that he will be rejoining us.

"Willie and I worked together for a long time and we had plenty of success including his first Commonwealth title.

"I will never forget the night he was robbed of victory over Amir Khan, but I firmly believe that Willie still has plenty in the tank and the plan is for him to appear on the under card of Ricky Burns' next fight on June 27.

"I have already spoken to Eddie Hearn about that being a straight shot at Curtis Woodhouse for the British title and that is something we will be moving on once Willie is signed and sealed."

Meanwhile, Morrison has also revealed that moves to find a replacement trainer for Ricky Burns following the departure of Billy Nelson are well down the line.

Big Alex said: "There are some names that we are looking at. Two that are at the top of the list are Chris Sanigar and Tony Sims."

I understand that the highly-respected Sims, who acted as supporting second to Nelson for Burns' last fight with Terence Crawford, could be in the front seat.
